Preston Andrew Trombly (born December 30, 1945, in Hartford, Connecticut) is an American composer, visual artist, and broadcast personality, best known as a program host on Sirius XM's Symphony Hall classical music channel. Trombly is the son of Perley A. Trombly, who owned a printing company in Manchester, Connecticut, and Elizabeth Sage Trombly.〔("Margaret Kelly, Preston Trombley" ), The New York Times (May 25, 1997)〕 Trombly earned his Bachelor of Music from the University of Connecticut in 1969. He received a Master of Musical Arts degree from the Yale School of Music in 1972.
